Scouting The Virginia Overland Route

Overlanding in Virginia is a little tougher that it is in the western US. We don't have the BLM land or vast swaths of unoccupied land that we can travel through and camp on here.

I've been working on building an overland route connecting as many forest roads, gravel roads and trails with as little pavement as possible through Virginia and West Virginia. This time around Chris and I started on the east side of the Blue Ridge Parkways and made our way through what will be the southern leg of the route.

We spent three days on the trail and camped along the way. There were a couple of closures that required us to reroute and one that ended up cutting the trip a little short but overall it was a good scouting mission.
